I am one of the founders and owners of Gold City Veterinary Clinic along with my daughter, Jess. I graduated from Murdoch university, Perth and have worked extensively in both Australia and New Zealand in mixed and small animal practice.. I have a special interest in dermatology and soft tissue surgery but enjoy general small animal practice including challenging medicine cases. My husband and I are enjoying living in the Towers and exploring north QLD region.
Hi, I’m Jess, one of the Veterinarians and owners of Gold City Vets. I have an interest in companion animals and everything that comes with them. I enjoy my job because it is hands on and varies every day.
I really thrive on critical care work as it presents a challenge and it makes me happy sending patients home to their loved ones.
As a vet, I pride myself on patient care and excellent communication with owners to achieve the best outcome for the family. It is incredibly important to me for an owner to be fully informed about their animal’s health and the options that they have in both preventative care as well as treatment of illness or injury.
As a business owner, I am proud of our community involvement through Cat Rescue, sponsorship of sports teams, participation in work experience programs, youth mentoring and many other ways.
I look forward to caring for your pets,
Dr Jess Batt.
Hi, my name is Riley Nash,
I am a Veterinary Nurse with a high commitment to this field of work. I have previously worked on the Tablelands and in Mossman. I now endeavour to follow my dreams and complete my studies at Gold City Veterinary Clinic to become a qualified Veterinary Nurse.
As a Veterinary Nurse I really enjoy helping all animals large and small and must admit that I have quite the soft spot for the large breed dogs. as I own three of them myself.
Hello, my name is Nydia Daniels.
Although I am only new to vet nursing I have always had a strong passion for all animals great and small. Throughout my working career I have managed to work in industry that have kept me connected to animals in some way. I have had the wonderful pleasure of designing and constructing the Tasmanian Devil enclosure down in Victoria.
I am truly over the moon with my new career as a Veterinary Nurse, the nursing side of animal medical is so much more involved and rewarding than I could have imagined, with so much to learn I only wish I had started studying sooner.
Hi, my name is Celine Burns.
I began my nursing career in 2012 at North West QLD and often travelled hundreds of Km's with the Veterinarian to visit remote communities to offer veterinary service to people who would otherwise not be able to attend a veterinary clinic.
I have a love for all things feline with a keen interest in feline critical care nursing and wish to further my knowledge is this field in the future. I also am interested in canine nutrition and behaviour and you will often see me running puppy preschool at Gold City Veterinary Clinic.
