Grooming & Bathing Services

Our services

Hygiene Clip

This is booked with a nurse, and you are asked to hold your pet during the clip.

We will clip the areas that can cause discomfort if hair becomes overgrown: around their face (eyes, ears & mouth), feet and anus/underside of tail.  We can remove any knots/matts that may be in your pets coat and give them a brush.

Full Grooms

This is booked as a day procedure and requires your pet to undergo sedation (they will receive a health check to ensure they are fit for sedation).

Dogs receive a full body clip from head to toe, and will also get their nails clipped.

Cats receive a lion clip where we clip their body, but leave their head, feet and tail.  We will however remove any matts/knots that might be in these areas.  They also get their front nails clipped (back nails are left so their ability to climb and run isn't affected).

* Please note: We are not trained groomers!  If you are looking for a professional or breed-specific groom, please call us, so we can point you in the direction of someone that can help!

Bathing

We use a shampoo suited best to your pets individual needs:

  • Aloveen Oatmeal Shampoo provides nourishment for the skin and coat.
  • Malaseb Medicated Shampoo is for pets with itchy skin as it contains antibacterial and antifungal properties.

We top your pets bath off with some Aloveen Oatmeal Conditioner which leaves them feeling fresh and smelling great!

Grooming is an important part of pet care, whether it be a clip, bath, brush, or all three!

Depending on the breed, age and health of your pet, grooming may even need to be part of you and your pets daily routine.  Your pet may not require daily grooming, however a regular brush and bath always helps to keep your pet healthy and comfortable.

Some breeds like Poodles don't shed their hair effectively and require grooming by a professional every 6-8 weeks.  Long-haired cats can particularly benefit from a regular brush as it helps prevent the formation of knots in the coat and hairballs in the stomach.

Grooming at Home

We encourage you to also engage in regular grooming with your pet at home.  There are numerous benefits including:

  • Decreased chance of skin problems
  • Optimal skin cleanliness and comfort for you and your pet
  • Improved monitoring of health issues like the presence of lumps or skin lesions, pain, or changes in temperament
  • Enhanced behavioural routines with obedient submission during grooming periods
  • Closer bonding with your pet through regular contact
