I am one of the founders and owners of Gold City Veterinary Clinic along with my daughter, Jess. I graduated from Murdoch University, Perth, and have worked extensively in both Australia and New Zealand in mixed and small animal practice. I have a special interest in dermatology and soft tissue surgery but enjoy general small animal practice including challenging medicine cases. My husband and I are enjoying living in the Towers and exploring north QLD region.

Dr Jess Batt
Veterinarian
Hi, I’m Jess, one of the Veterinarians and owners of Gold City Vets. I have an interest in companion animals and everything that comes with them. I enjoy my job because it is hands on and varies every day.
I really thrive on critical care work as it presents a challenge and it makes me happy sending patients home to their loved ones.
As a vet, I pride myself on patient care and excellent communication with owners to achieve the best outcome for the family. It is incredibly important to me for an owner to be fully informed about their animal’s health and the options that they have in both preventative care as well as treatment of illness or injury.
As a business owner, I am proud of our community involvement through Cat Rescue, sponsorship of sports teams, participation in work experience programs, youth mentoring and many other ways.
I look forward to caring for your pets,
Dr Jess Batt.

Hi I’m Susannah, I graduated as a vet from JCU in 2014 with Jess and since then have worked in both mixed animal practice and companion animal practice all over from Mt Isa to Casino in NSW and most recently on the Gold Coast. I have very much enjoyed settling in and making Charters Towers my home and meeting all of the lovely clients and pets of Gold City Vets.
I have a particular interest in soft tissue surgery and dentistry as I love a good challenge. Another thing I am passionate about is indigenous community animal health and regularly do trips to remote communities to desex animals and provide parasite prevention and education.
